Role at the Children's Nutrition Research Center:
Through a unique partnership agreement, the Cooperative State Research,
Education, and Extension Service of USDA located their National
program Leader for Maternal & Child Health at the CNRC. The
purpose of the position is to strengthen the linkages between nutrition
research and nutrition education and to disseminate the latest research
out across the Extension system to educators and others who can
incorporate it into their teaching and training efforts at the local
and state levels. The Cooperative Extension System (CES) is a publicly
funded, lifelong learning system that links the education and research
resources and activities of 103 land-grant universities, 3,150 counties
and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
An electronic newsletter entitled MCH LINKS (Maternal & Child
Health Links: Research, Education, Extension and Technology) is
transmitted from the CNRC to subscribers in every state and U.S.
territory as well as those in many other countries. The latest issues
